12. A steering

The general information

The steering consists of a steering wheel, a steering column, steering gear реечной transfer and steering draughts. The steering wheel is fixed on a shaft of a steering column and transfers effort on gear реечную transfer.

From each party gear рейка steering transfer it is connected by the spherical hinge to cross-section steering draught. Steering draughts transfer effort through steering tips and rotary fists to forward wheels. Such design of a steering has an easy course at absence люфта at turn of a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop.

For simplification of turn of a steering wheel establish the hydraulic amplifier of a steering consisting of the pump of the amplifier of a steering, put in action a belt from a cranked shaft, a tank with a liquid, hoses and tubes, and steering transfer.

STEERING COLUMN / THE STEERING SHAFT

1 – a bolt, 15–20 Н•м;
2 – an intermediate shaft with universal hinges;
3 – a bolt, 15–20 Н•м;

4 – a bolt, 4–6 Н•м;
5 – a protective cover;
6 – a steering column;
7 – a clip.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

	1. Remove the button of a sound signal and disconnect an electric socket.
2. Turn away a nut of fastening of a steering wheel.
	3. Put combination labels on an end face of a steering shaft and a steering wheel and a stripper 09561–11002 remove a steering wheel.
The prevention Do not knock on a steering wheel as these can damage a steering column.
4. Remove the bottom plug смятия.
	5. Turn out screws and remove casings of a steering column.
	6. Disconnect electric sockets from switches.
	7. Remove multipurpose switches.
	8. Turn out a bolt connecting the universal hinge and a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer.
	9. Turn out bolts, крепящие a steering column to an arm, and remove a steering column from the car.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

	1. Ослабьте a bolt of fastening of a steering shaft to the universal hinge also remove the universal hinge.
	2. If necessary remove the lock of a steering column, preliminary having cut ножовкой on metals grooves in heads of cut off bolts. Turn away bolts a screw-driver with a flat edge and remove the lock of a steering column.
The prevention At installation of the lock of ignition it is necessary to use new bolts with a cut off head.
	3. If necessary remove the lever and an arm of the mechanism of adjustment of a corner of an inclination of a steering column.
The prevention Do not assort a steering column and a steering shaft.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check up a steering column and a steering shaft on absence of damages and deformations.
2. Check up the universal hinge of a steering shaft on absence люфта, damages and jammings.
3. Check up an arm of a corner of an inclination on absence of cracks and damages.
4. Check up work the mechanism of the lock of a steering column.
	5. Check up a protective cover on absence of cracks or damages.

Assemblage

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Assemblage is spent to sequences to return dismantling.
	2. Combine the lock of a steering column with a ledge of a column and insert the ignition key to check up action of the lock of a steering column before a tightening of bolts with cut off heads.
The prevention Do not use usual screws for fastening of the lock of a steering column.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish the universal hinge on a shaft of a steering column.
	The prevention Be convinced, that the universal hinge is established correctly, as is shown in drawing. Check up, that the bolt has been established correctly in dredging of a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer and the bolt end left from an opposite side of the universal hinge.
2. Establish the universal hinge together with shaft of a steering column on a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer and temporarily fix a bolt.
3. Establish a shaft of a steering column to an assembly frame.
The prevention At installation be careful not to bend a steering column.
4. Tighten a bolt of fastening of the universal hinge with shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer.
5. Establish the multipurpose switch and connect electric sockets.
6. Establish casings of a steering column.
7. Establish the bottom plug смятия.
8. Establish a steering wheel.
	The prevention After steering wheel installation be convinced, that the labels put before removal, were combined also a steering wheel is in position for rectilinear movement.
