1.72. Start-up of the engine from the storage battery of other car

 Start-up by means of connecting cables can become dangerous if it is executed incorrectly. Hence, for an exception of a trauma of the personnel or damage of the car or the battery adhere to a technique resulted further.

Keep on big enough distance from the battery all sources of a flame or sparks. The battery develops hydrogen which can blow up if it will be subject to flame or spark action. Do not try to start up the engine if the discharged battery has frozen or if in it low level of electrolit, the battery can burst or blow up.

 Sequence of start-up of the engine from the storage battery of other car:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Be convinced that the auxiliary battery has pressure 12 In and that its negative plug is earthed.
2. Check up electrolit level in storage batteries everyone bank.
3. If the auxiliary battery is in other car, do not suppose, that cars adjoined.
4. Switch off all unnecessary electric consumers.
5. Connect all cables in the exact sequence shown in drawing 120. At first connect one end of a cable to the positive plug (+) the discharged battery, then the second end of the same cable to the positive plug (+) the auxiliary battery. Further connect one end of the second cable to the negative plug (–) the auxiliary battery and then the second end to a mass, stationary metal point (for example, to an engine support) besides the battery. Do not connect a cable to moving parts or in them близи since at start-up they could be damaged. Do not connect a cable from negative (–) plugs of the auxiliary battery to the negative plug (–) the discharged battery. Do not suppose, that cables concerned everything except for corresponding plugs of batteries or correct grounding. At joining of cables do not bend over the battery.

6. Start up the engine of the car from the auxiliary battery and leave it to work at frequency of rotation of 2000 mines-1. Then start up the engine of the car with the discharged battery.

If the reason of a discharge of your battery is not obvious, for example, car headlights remained casually included, you should hand over the car on check to the authorised dealer ХЁНДЭ.
